Crisis of Adulthood
This is a really fun story to read because it's so true. Some people speed through these stages and find themselves repeating them all over again because they have nothing else to do for in this world. Some reach each stage at the perfect time and believe that everything is going grest with their up and downs like a everyday life. I reccommend for everyone to read this piece because it really gets people thinking and even laugh a little.
Back in Memory
I remember when I was a young girl and my grandmother would kiss me good-bye before she went to work and I would cry not wanting her to go. So to feel like she is there i would run in her room and just stay there until she came back home. I have always been close to my grandmother. She is like my backbone, with her I feel very comfortable.

The Combined News
Ho! Ho! Ho! to Ha! Ha! Ha! What is going on? Santa is too fat!! What is wrong with Santa being fat? Everyone loves him the way he is. The Herald seems to think that Santa should lose weight. Why? because kids don't need to see Santa fat. I honestly think Santa is fine the way he is and Ho! Ho! Ho! has been around for ever it's impossible and not right to change something just because people think it should be changed.
The Movie that Changed my Life
I think everyone has a movie that they will always remember or change their life. I know my favorite movie of all time is " Two can Play that Game" just because of everything thta was going on is like everyday life, every day relationships.

The Seven Ages of Men
As I researched what people thought about this quote it seemed many had different thoughts because it was just talking, or better said using the word man. One person said that, "Men was inclusive language in Shakespeare's day. It was the most inclusive language he had. The word meant 'human beings' or 'adult males' depending on the context and that obviously women were included." Another diagreed by saying, "When you read that specific poem, you understand he's dealing with a male's life. The Bard could tell the difference very well. "

Honestly, when I read the poem even I thought it was just referring to men, but many people have different ways of viewing things.

I believe that the person that replied by saying, " why not let the woman decide herself" was a very clever way to approach the answer because the lady can decide what is important on her own and if she isn't going to care for life why bother living, but then again it is a human and it's not up to her to decide whether to live or die.

Mother Talk
Relationships between mother and daughter always change throughout the years. I seem to get along better with my grandmother than with my mother, but then again there are times when my mother can understand me faster than what my grandmother can. It all depends on the situation, what your planning on doing. Daughters usually know who to go to ask for permission to and get the answer they want because they know who will say yes to them without asking them 21 questions.
Motorcycle Talk
The relationship of the father and son is interesting because the father is not a man of words. In order for the son to have a conversation with his father and not feel like their "distant cousins" he talks about cars. That's their way of talking about life and what is going on between them. In the story the father said that word won't get the engine started. He combined everyday conversation by adding a car part to his idea.

The Whale Rider
It's cool to see how differently these families or tribes live their life. The whales give them meaning and hope; they are like something that keeps people holding on. My favorite scene from the film would have to be when the grand daughter rode the whale to save the others and her tribes beliefs. i recommend this video this video to everyone because it's very warm.

Fido for Supper
In Vietnam dog-eating is only done to get rid of bad luck and during Tet, one of their celebrations held to bring out the new lunar year. It is bad luck to eat the meat though at the beginning of the two weeks.
Some business men eat it to get rid of their bad fortune. Eating dog meat is cheap and those who

I can't imagine ever eating a dog, to that's just not right, but everyone has their on way of doing things and believe what they grew up with. Like the Vietnamese grew up believing and doing these things.

The SEATO
The SEATO stands for Southeast Asia Treaty Organization and it was created to be similar to NATO. Members of the organization are France, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, and New Zealand. It was created to keep communist power from building up.

SEATO was founded in 1954 and was destroyed in 1977 due to the doubts that started to arise in 1953 and their rule of unanimity in other countries.

Elderly in Dom. Rep.& U.S
In the Dominican Republic the elderly are treated very differently than in the United States. Usually the oldest son or the wealthier out of their children is to take care of them if they are not able to live on their own. Most older Dominican live on their own though because they feel like they shoudn't be an obstacle in their children's life says, Filomena Perez. Here, in the U.S, most are in nursing homes or even retirement homes. In both countries though, if the elders had a choice to live on their own I believe they would take that opportunity.

Maasai Warrior 2
Maasai people are known for their beads work and the pattern they put to it. They are also known for grazing. Cattles are the Maasai's central economy. The language of the Maasai's is Nilotic. The job of the man is to protect the tribe and the cattles and the job of the woman is to do the housework, build the house and take care of the children.

The setting Sun and the Rolling...
"Words are handles made to the smith's fancy and are liable to break under stress"(Mungoshi 152). The son and father are having a conversation with each other and with themselves yet they don't say what they are thinking they are careful with their words. I don't think that they want to hurt one another by expressing their true feelings because overall it won't change the other's thought.
Maasai Warrior
This story reminds me of when hispanics throw quinceaneros for the girls. The birthday symbolizes the step from childhood to womanhood. I can relate to the story in that sense. It is cool to see how different other countries celebrate an important time in their life.
Fleeing the Nest
I really enjoyed reading this story. It was interesting to find out how the parents grew into the fact that their second daughter was also going to move out. The reaction of the other daughter was also interesting, it made her doubt things about her parents affection in some sort of way.
I decided to check out the lifestyle in Washington, D.C, which is where is going to do her internship.
Washington, D.C is full of famous sights and attractions all year long all to celebrate and symbolize patriotism. Anyone who goes there will have a wonderful experience.
